		<description><![CDATA[This is interesting--I was just proofing a paper by a student for whom English is a second language, and this came up: She had interpreted the summation of the opposition as the position of the author, and was a little shocked when I pointed out that the author was actually arguing the counterpoint. I think some of the ways that the counterpoint is introduced or segued away from can be too subtle for a non-native reader. Of course, not reading the whole paper contributes as well.]]></description>
